Christian Education Programs
Children In Worship
Each
Sunday during the school year, our children ages 3 through 2nd grade
move from Worship into Children in Worship. In the Children’s Worship Center,
they experience God by hearing a story from the Bible. The Christ candle is
lit each week as a reminder that Jesus is the Light of the World. Children sit
in a circle to sing, pray and share prayer requests. God's Word is presented to
them using language that the children can understand, as well as using figures
that can help tell and show them God's Word. Following the story, there is time
to reflect and respond to the Word of God. Children
often respond to God's Word by retelling the story at the circle, coloring or
painting a picture, or reading a book with an adult helper. Children in Worship
has been proven to be the most significant way to have children not only learn
about God, but experience God and the importance of worshipping this Holy God.
Here are some pictures of our Children in Worship kids learning about God’s
love.

LIFE Focus:
(Living in Faith Everyday)
During the school year we try to offer an
educational experience known in other places as Sunday School. For us,
though, it is more than an educational experience. It is about living in
faith everyday. We believe Christian Education to be a lifelong
pilgrimage, so these experiences are for adults as well as children.
Kids Klub
Are you looking for more opportunities to help
your child grow?
Kid's Klub
can be that opportunity.
Kids' Klub starts up again in September of 2008!
Kids' Klub evenings begin with a
dinner at 5:45; the first Wednesday of the month the dinner will be provided,
other weeks bring a dish to share. Adults are invited to be a part of this meal
and fellowship. The lessons and activities for kids start at 6:15. We wrap up at 7:45.
If you have other questions about
Kid's Klub call the church office at 652-6624.
Vacation Bible School
This
summer we had a
"Tasty Treats" theme. The story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 and
the story of God providing manna during the trip to the promised land
were two of the stories for the week. The practice of using meal
time prayers was included. Each day from 6 - 8 p.m. we will
had singing, lesson, snack and game time.
Super-Sized Thin & Crispy, Hot & Spicy, Hold the Onions, Finger Lickin TASTY TREATS!
"How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" Psalm 119:103
Senior High Youth Group
The Senior High Youth Group generally meets twice a
month, with one meeting focused on faith issues and the other on fellowship and
fun. The primary objectives of the Youth Group are 1) Spiritual Growth, 2)
Group Building, 3) Service and 4) Fun. We often participate in service projects
and attempt to make mission trips available. We also seek to be of service to
the people of the church, both the younger kids (especially at Wednesday night
Kids' Klub) and the older generations (especially through service projects).
Camp Talahi
Camp experiences are wonderful
opportunities for learning and playing in God's good creation, not only for
children but also for adults. Our denomination's Camp Talahi is a place that
holds many fond memories for many of our people. Because we are committed to
making camp experience available to all, we make 'campership" money available to
all children who wish to attend camp.
Bible Studies
We affirm that all of God’s people
should be students of the Bible, and we believe that the best use of the Bible
engages the whole person, not just the intellect. Therefore, our Bible studies
tend to be interactive and experiential rather than focused solely on "book
learning." One such ongoing group is the Daily Bread Group, which meets on
Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Women of the Word (WOW) is a group for
women, meeting at noon on Wednesdays. See the
Announcements for the current offerings.
