How To Reach Us

Ecumenical Activities

We believe that all followers of Jesus are called to be one body (The Body of Christ), working together in God's service.  Therefore, we participate with other believers from other churches and denominations in a number of activities.

Soup's On

During the Wednesdays in the seasons of Advent and Lent we gather with other Christians for a lunch of soup and bread, followed by a meditation or meditative activity.  The location each week moves from church to church.  Location for any given week can be found in the Announcements and the Churchmouse.

Christmas Concert

We participate with other local churches in a sacred-music concert on a Sunday evening prior to Christmas.  This concert is generally held at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church.  Our Bell Choir usually performs a number or two, and some of our members regularly sing in the Community Choir.

Grant/Newaygo Emergency Food Pantry

With other local churches we participate in running an emergency food pantry, where a person or family in the Grant and Newaygo school districts can obtain a couple days' worth of food once a month.  We have a food-drop box in the main hallway where food can always be dropped off for the pantry.  The pantry is presently housed in St. Bart's basement.

Love INC

Love In the Name of Christ (INC) is a local agency sponsored by the churches that seeks to help people in need through sale of used clothing, appliances, furniture, etc. as well as financial help in the form of budgeting classes, help with utility bills, free clothes to families who have been burned out of their homes, etc.

Special Community Services

Thanksgiving, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are times when we traditionally gather with other churches in combined services.  We also gather with the community churches for special and/or emergency services.  For example, on September 11, 2001 the community churches gathered together for a time of mourning for the victims of terror and prayer for our nation in the time of distress.
